1,100 Arogya Mandirs by March 2026: Delhi CM
New Delhi
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday reaffirmed her government's goal of setting up over 1,100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) by March 2026. Speaking at the launch of 34 new AAMs, she said that Delhi is progressing steadily towards becoming a healthy city. So far, 93 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) cards have been issued, helping citizens manage and share medical records digitally. She noted that over 4 lakh people have registered under the Ayushman scheme, with more than 2,000 already benefiting from its services.
Nearly 3 lakh cards have also been distributed under the Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY). Gupta thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for supporting improved healthcare infrastructure in Delhi and emphasized the government’s focus on health service digitalisation and access for all.
Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said the government is actively enhancing public healthcare by launching more AAMs, with 75 additional centres expected by the end of August. He shared that 429 Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) sites have been selected for AAMs, and 98 have received clearance. Feasibility studies are ongoing at over 950 locations.
The Health Minister also announced the opening of 150 dialysis centres and upcoming MRI services. He criticised the previous AAP government for neglecting health services and said the current administration is committed to fulfilling promises, including expanding medical facilities, ensuring medicine availability, and strengthening overall healthcare infrastructure in the capital.
