Yuva Rajkumar to star in 'Kaage Bangara': Director Suri

Suri’s much-anticipated film Kaage Bangara is finally taking shape, now with a new lead. Initially, actor Viraat was set to play the protagonist, but in a surprising twist, Yuva Rajkumar has taken over the role. Interestingly, this isn’t just a standalone project—it will connect the worlds of Kendasampige and Popcorn Monkey Tiger, creating a cinematic multiverse.

Reflecting on the casting change, Suri expressed his regret to Viraat. He was eager to be part of this film, but things didn’t work out. After watching his last film and hearing his interviews, I hope to direct him in the future, he shared.

On casting Yuva Rajkumar, Suri remarked, Yuva Raj has a strong sense of responsibility as an actor. I can’t change him, but I can shape him into this character. He also revealed his excitement about working with the Rajkumar family and hinted at future collaborations with Vinay Rajkumar.

Produced by PRK Productions, Jayanna Films, and KRG Studios, Kaage Bangara features Rithanya Vijay as the female lead. The film boasts a strong technical team, with Surendranath as the story writer, Amri handling screenplay and dialogues, Charan Raj composing music, and Shekar managing cinematography.

Suri teased that familiar characters from Kendasampige and Popcorn Monkey Tiger will appear, further expanding the film’s universe. The title has generated excitement, and the project is only getting bigger, he concluded.
