Fans excited to see Yash as Ravana in Ramayana: Part 1 may need to wait a little longer for a full-fledged performance. As per reports, the Kannada superstar will appear on screen for only about 15 minutes in the first installment. The focus of Ramayana: Part 1 is said to be on Lord Rama’s early life and exile, portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor, which limits the scope of Ravana’s role for now.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey will be seen as Hanuman and Lakshmana, respectively. The buzz around the film grew stronger after the first look was unveiled, promising epic visuals, action, and music by legendary composers A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

According to sources cited by Telly Chakkar, Yash’s limited screen time in the first film is a deliberate narrative choice. His character will reportedly take center stage in Ramayana: Part 2, which is expected to explore Ravana’s arc in depth.

While the production team has not made any official statement regarding Yash’s screen time, fans remain hopeful for a powerful performance in the sequel. Ramayana: Part 1 is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027.

Meanwhile, Yash is also busy with his next major project, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, a gangster drama set against the backdrop of the drug mafia.
