Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Kingdom’ may face delay

Vijay Deverakonda’s much-awaited spy thriller Kingdom might be delayed once again. The film, currently scheduled for release on July 4, 2025, is now likely to hit theaters on July 25, according to new reports. However, there has been no official announcement from the makers so far.

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Kingdom is designed as a pan-India film and is planned to be the first part of a two-film series. The delay is reportedly due to ongoing re-shoots of certain scenes. The film has already faced several postponements. Originally set to release on March 28, it was moved to May 30, and then to July 4. Producers earlier mentioned national events and an unsuitable atmosphere as reasons for the shifting dates.

The film features Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead, alongside Satyadev and Koushik Mahata in important roles. Shooting began in June 2023 and took place in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Kerala, and Sri Lanka. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

The project was first announced in January 2023 under the working title VD12. The official title Kingdom was revealed in February 2025.
