Vicky Kaushal is thrilled to star in the action-packed film Chhaava, where he plays the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Reflecting on his excitement, he shared how the director, Laxman Uterkar, instilled great confidence in him. Laxman sir wanted me to embody the spirit of a lion—act like one, fight like one, and roar like one, said Vicky, emphasizing the unique approach to his character. He also mentioned how the film is deeply personal to Uterkar, which made him feel honored to be chosen for such a significant role.

This marks Vicky’s second action film after URI, which he described as a dream come true. After URI, I couldn’t wait to be part of another action movie, he said. For Chhaava, Vicky underwent rigorous preparation, learning sword fighting and horse-riding to embody the role authentically. He even gained 20 kilos to match the physical demands of the character.

The actor also acknowledged the challenges of shooting in harsh heat conditions, especially during a demanding schedule in Vai. Laxman sir’s sincerity and trust in me made this journey special, he added.

Chhaava also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, and Ashutosh Rana, with each playing a key role in this historical drama.
