'The Raja Saab' delayed again, Prabhas fans wait

Prabhas's upcoming horror comedy The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, is likely to face another delay. Originally planned for an April release and then pushed to December, the latest buzz suggests the film might now hit theatres during the Sankranthi 2026 season, potentially on January 9. However, the makers have yet to confirm this officially.

If the film does move to the Sankranthi slot, it could face a tough box office clash. Big releases like Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and Chiranjeevi-Nayanthara’s Mega157 are also expected to arrive during the same festive window, making the competition intense.

The Raja Saab showcases a different side of Prabhas, shifting away from his recent high-concept and action-heavy films. He plays a young man struggling with financial troubles, trying to reclaim his ancestral property. The storyline is a blend of supernatural elements, humor, and family legacy, offering a unique cinematic experience.

Reportedly, the film will also feature flashback scenes with Prabhas in a royal look, complete with grey hair, adding to the character’s depth. The movie's teaser hinted at a rich mix of horror, comedy, and heritage.

Joining Prabhas in the film are Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan (in her Telugu debut), and Riddhi Kumar. The film will be released in multiple languages—Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam—ensuring a wide reach across India.

While fans are excited, they may have to wait a bit longer to see this royal entertainer on the big screen.
