Tanishaa Mukerji, daughter of veteran actress Tanuja and sister of Kajol, recently shared her love for classic Indian cinema and her desire to be part of meaningful storytelling once again. Reflecting on the golden era of films made at her grandfather Sashadhar Mukherjee’s Filmalaya Studios, she said, Cinema used to be for everyone — a celebration for the entire family, not a luxury. I miss that.

She fondly recalled films like Anarkali, Munimji, and Paying Guest—movies that, in her words, had heart and soul. They didn’t rely on shock value or controversy. I want to be a part of cinema that delivers real emotions, just updated for today’s world, she added.

Tanishaa also emphasized the importance of self-expression and confidence in fashion, saying she values comfort over trends and believes style should reflect one's personality.

Speaking about her professional journey, she admitted to having made mistakes by trusting others’ visions without full clarity. I used to go with the flow, but that didn’t always help me. I’ve been let down before. Now, with experience, I only want to invest in work that offers clear direction, she explained.

Tanishaa stressed the need for self-awareness and learning from past choices. As an evolving actor, she’s determined to focus her energy where there’s purpose, clarity, and creative honesty—echoing her love for timeless, heartfelt cinema.
