Shilpa Shetty on how Helen, Rekha, Madhuri inspired her

Actress Shilpa Shetty, currently seen as a judge on Super Dancer Chapter 5, recently shared the names of three legendary women who have deeply inspired her throughout her journey—Helen, Rekha, and Madhuri Dixit.

Shilpa praised Helen for her grace and said that no matter what Helen wore or how she performed, it never seemed inappropriate. About Rekha, she admired her powerful expressions and said Rekha could convey deep emotions with just her eyes. As for Madhuri Dixit, Shilpa revealed she learned to dance by watching Madhuri’s performances, always impressed by her elegance and class.

She also spoke fondly about her mother, Sunanda, calling her the biggest influence in her life. Shilpa recalled how her mother supported her career from the age of 17, traveling with her, managing her schedule, offering advice, and being her toughest critic. Whatever I am today is because of my mother, she added.

Shilpa, along with Geeta Kapoor and Marzi Pestonji, has returned as a judge on Super Dancer Chapter 5, which airs on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV. This season, she says, is extra special as it shines a light on the mothers of the contestants and their inspiring stories.

As a mother herself, Shilpa emphasized the selfless role mothers play. We always celebrate the kids, but their mothers deserve equal applause, she said. Behind every child’s success, there’s a mother—the real star.
