Saif Ali Khan urges growth for Indian cinema
Saif Ali Khan, often called the ‘Nawab of Bollywood’, was a special guest on the first day of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES). This unique platform brings together people from across Indian cinema and entertainment to explore its rising global potential.
At the event, Saif praised the summit as a great initiative supported by the Prime Minister, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, and FICCI. He highlighted how WAVES can help connect storytellers and creators across India and the world. We have so many powerful stories to tell, from North to South. This platform helps us come together and share them, he said.
Saif stressed the importance of creative collaborations and providing space for India’s untapped talent. He noted that India already plays a big role in animation and gaming globally, but should also create and showcase its own original stories. We’ve been winning awards doing it for others. Imagine the impact if we did it for ourselves, he added.
The event saw participation from other celebrities and creators, adding to the summit's significance. Saif’s experience and clear vision for the future of Indian entertainment left a strong impression on the audience.
On the work front, Saif recently appeared in Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins on Netflix. He’s also expected to be seen in Race 4, Kartavya, Click Shankar, Devara: Part 2, and Shootout at Byculla.
