Model-turned-actor Priyanka Kumar's acting journey gained momentum during her debut film Bad Manners, when she was offered a role in Rudra Garuda Purana, set to release on January 24. Reflecting on her second film, Priyanka shares, Director KS Nandeesh was searching for the right fit, and I was fortunate to be chosen.

Excited by the mystery thriller genre, she says, Rudra Garuda Purana isn’t a typical commercial entertainer. It’s rare to see such thrillers in Kannada cinema. In the film, Priyanka plays Divya, a software engineer pressured by her parents to marry. Her life changes after meeting Rudra, portrayed by Rishi. Female characters rarely have significant roles in thrillers, but my character has a pivotal role in unraveling the mystery, she adds.

The Mysuru native enjoyed shooting in her hometown, making the experience even more special. She describes working with Rishi as a learning opportunity, saying, He shared valuable tips that helped me grow.

Currently, Priyanka is also filming Doora Theera Yaana, directed by National Award winner Mansore, calling it one of her most fulfilling projects. Acting is my passion, and I patiently waited for meaningful roles, she says.

Priyanka emphasizes the importance of performance over budget, crediting her training at Ranga Shankara Theatre for shaping her craft. I’ve grown significantly in the last two years, both as an actor and a person, she concludes.
