Rishabh Shetty starts final leg of 'Kantara: Chapter 1'
Rishab Shetty’s Kantara (2022) became a nationwide sensation and one of Indian cinema’s biggest hits. Its massive success laid the foundation for a prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1, which fans are eagerly waiting for.
After creating excitement with its striking poster, the film has now entered its final leg of shooting. The last schedule began today near Kundapur, Karnataka, with filming taking place about 20 km from the town. According to sources, the shoot is progressing smoothly and on schedule.
Produced by Hombale Films, Kantara: Chapter 1 is shaping up to be one of their most ambitious projects yet. A key highlight of the film is a large-scale war sequence, prepared with the help of national and international experts. Over 500 trained fighters were brought in to craft this high-intensity battle scene, which aims to raise the bar for Indian action cinema.
To prepare, Rishab Shetty underwent three months of intense training, mastering horse riding, sword fighting, and the martial art of Kalaripayattu. The scene was shot in a unique mountain location covering 25 acres in Karnataka, with filming lasting nearly 50 days.
With stunning visuals, a powerful story, and emotional depth, Kantara left a strong impact worldwide. Now, Kantara: Chapter 1 promises to take the story to even greater heights. The film is set to release on October 2, 2025, and expectations are sky-high for another unforgettable cinematic journey.
