Sithara Entertainment has officially announced that Rishab Shetty, the acclaimed actor-director known for Kantara, will play the lead in its upcoming Telugu film. The movie will be directed by Ashwin Gangaraju, who previously helmed Aakashavaani. This project, temporarily titled Production No. 36, is being produced in collaboration with Fortune Four Cinemas.

The announcement was made on Wednesday via the production house’s X (formerly Twitter) account, which read: Not all rebels are forged in battle. Some are chosen by destiny. This is that story of a rebel. The message confirmed Shetty's involvement and hinted at a powerful, action-packed narrative.

The film's poster, which shows a cannon surrounded by bayonets, hints that this will be a historical action drama set during the 18th century in Bengal. With the caption The land burned, a rebel rose, it suggests a strong period backdrop and an intense storyline.

This film marks Rishab Shetty’s debut in Telugu cinema and is expected to be a key project in his career. Meanwhile, Shetty has already completed filming Kantara: Chapter 1, the prequel to his blockbuster Kantara. Hombale Films recently shared a glimpse into the making of the prequel, calling it a divine journey and confirming its theatrical release on October 2.

Director Ashwin Gangaraju’s earlier film Aakashavaani was released on OTT during the pandemic, and this new collaboration promises to bring his storytelling back to the big screen.
