After a 24-year hiatus, veteran actress Raveena Tandon is set to make a powerful comeback to Tamil cinema with the upcoming film Lawyer, starring Vijay Antony. Tandon, who was last seen in Kollywood in 2001’s Aalavandhan alongside Kamal Haasan, expressed interest in the new project after watching director Joshua’s debut film Gentlewoman.

Director Joshua Sethuraman revealed in an interview that he connected with Raveena through Bollywood contacts and invited her to view Gentlewoman before pitching the script. Impressed by his work, the actress immediately agreed to join the cast.

Tandon, known for her commanding screen presence, has had an illustrious career across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu cinema. In recent years, she gained acclaim for her performance in the Kannada blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2.

Lawyer is a courtroom drama that will highlight intricacies of the Indian judicial system through a gripping and unconventional case. The film is expected to be content-driven, focusing more on legal storytelling than commercial spectacle.

Apart from Lawyer, Tandon has two other major projects lined up—Housefull 5 and Inn Galiyon Mein. Fans and film enthusiasts are eager to see her Tamil comeback, anticipating another powerful performance from the seasoned actress.

Raveena’s return is seen as a significant boost to Kollywood, bringing star power and experience to the industry. Her collaboration with Vijay Antony, a respected actor and composer, has generated considerable buzz among fans and critics alike, raising expectations for Lawyer.
