Rajkummar Rao’s Bhool Chuk Maaf turns profit
Rajkummar Rao’s latest sci-fi romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf, directed by Karan Sharma, has officially turned profitable just nine days into its theatrical run. Co-starring Wamiqa Gabbi, the film witnessed a significant 63% spike in collections on its second Saturday, earning ₹5.40 crore on Day 9 and taking its total India net collection to ₹54.12 crore.
Made on a budget of ₹50 crore, the film has not only recovered its investment but is now operating in the profit zone, with a return on investment (ROI) of ₹4.12 crore. In terms of gross earnings, the film has made ₹63.86 crore in India and ₹2.50 crore overseas, taking its worldwide total to ₹66.36 crore. As per industry standards, Bhool Chuk Maaf has earned a “Plus” verdict.
While the movie has yet to double its budget—a key benchmark to earn the official “Hit” tag—it has already become Rajkummar Rao’s third-highest grossing film, following Stree 2 (₹625.70 crore) and Stree (₹129.67 crore). It has surpassed the lifetime collections of Kai Po Che (₹50 crore) and Srikanth (₹49.50 crore).
Among 2025’s Bollywood releases, Bhool Chuk Maaf is outperforming titles like Fateh, Emergency, and The Diplomat, solidifying its position as one of the year’s early box office winners. With momentum building and positive word of mouth, the film is expected to continue its upward trajectory in the coming days, inching closer to the ₹100 crore mark required for the “Hit” status.
