Rajinikanth: Jailer 2 work may continue till December
Superstar Rajinikanth has revealed that the shoot for his much-anticipated film Jailer 2, directed by Nelson, is likely to continue until December this year. While speaking to reporters at the Chennai airport on Thursday, he said, The shoot is going well. It should wrap up by December.
The buzz around Jailer 2 is massive, fueled by the huge success of the first film, which collected nearly ₹650 crores worldwide. The sequel began filming in Chennai, with production house Sun Pictures announcing its commencement on March 10. Interest further spiked when an engaging teaser—packed with action and humor—was released.
Actress Ramya Krishnan, who plays Viji, wife of Rajinikanth’s character Muthuvel Pandian, shared that she began shooting for the film on the 26th anniversary of her earlier hit Padayappa. Actress Mirnaa, who plays Swetha Pandian (Rajinikanth’s daughter-in-law), is also expected to have a key role in the sequel.
There is speculation that South Indian superstars Dr. Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal may return in Jailer 2, although no official announcement has been made yet.
Music composer Anirudh, whose soundtrack was a major highlight of the first film, is back to score the music for the sequel as well. With high expectations, Jailer 2 promises to deliver another entertaining cinematic experience for fans.
