Pooja Hegde: Playing Rukku was the most fun experience

Actress Pooja Hegde recently shared her excitement about playing the character Rukmini, or Rukku, in her latest film Retro. She described the role as the most enjoyable experience she's ever had. On Instagram, Pooja posted several stills from the movie, expressing that Rukku is the purest of souls, a blend of innocence and intelligence. She further explained that Rukku is protective and fierce for her loved ones, yet remains kind and hopeful, even in dark times.

Pooja’s heartfelt caption reads, May we all strive to be you. Becoming Rukku was the most fun thing I’ve ever had to do. I leave behind a piece of my heart with her, and from today, she is yours as much as she is mine. RETRO time.

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro also stars Suriya and is set against the backdrop of beautiful locations like the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Ooty, Kerala, and Chennai. The film centers around a gangster who seeks to leave his violent past behind and lead a peaceful life for the sake of his wife.

Looking ahead, Pooja will star alongside Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur in the Bollywood film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The movie, inspired by 90s rom-coms, will see the cast filming in the UK for two months.
