Paramount announces release date changes for key films

Published on

Paramount Pictures has made major changes to its upcoming film release calendar. The much-anticipated The Running Man, starring Glen Powell, will now release on November 7, 2025, moving up from its original release date of November 21, 2025. This strategic shift aims to avoid direct competition with the Broadway adaptation Wicked: For Good, which had been slated for the same day.

In addition, Paramount confirmed that Regretting You, based on the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover, will hit theaters on October 24, 2025. The film stars Dave Franco and McKenna Grace and has been eagerly awaited by fans of Hoover’s work.

Another significant update comes with the announcement of an untitled IMAX-driven tentpole film, now set for January 15, 2027. Paramount is expected to launch this major project during that time.

However, not all changes were positive, as the horror film Vicious, directed by Bryan Bertino and starring Dakota Fanning, has been pulled from the release calendar. Originally scheduled for February 28, 2025, the film will now seek a more suitable release date in the future.

Paramount’s adjustments reflect a dynamic strategy as the studio works to position its releases more effectively amid a crowded film market.
