Nithya Menen says loneliness brings her happiness
With her film Thalaivan Thalaivi now in theatres, actress Nithya Menen has opened up about her personal life in a candid interview, touching on her childhood, relationships, and current state of mind. Speaking on The Ramya Show, Nithya shared that she was raised by her grandmother while her mother worked, which led her to become comfortable with solitude from a young age.
She revealed that even during her school days, she preferred keeping to herself, often choosing quiet over socialising. I’ve always felt different, she said, reflecting on how her early life shaped her personality.
When it comes to love, Nithya admitted that her past romantic experiences were filled with pain. She once hoped to find a soulmate but now accepts that those expectations haven’t been met. There was always pain in love, she confessed. Instead of dwelling on the past, she now finds peace and freedom in solo travel and spiritual growth.
Traveling alone for months gives me a sense of liberation, she said, explaining that her focus has shifted toward self-discovery and a deeper connection with life. She emphasized that success, money, or fame no longer drive her choices, and she’s determined not to become a slave to the film industry.
As for marriage, Nithya made her stance clear: If I find my soulmate, I’ll marry tomorrow. But for now, my loneliness makes me very happy. Her honesty and self-awareness have struck a chord with fans, showing a different, introspective side of the talented actress.
