Kathryn Newton to lead, produce Just One Day
Kathryn Newton, known for her role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, is set to star in and produce a new Amazon series titled Just One Day, based on the popular young adult romance novels by Gayle Forman, according to Deadline. The story spans two books and a follow-up novella, with Sherri Cooper and Jennifer Levin attached to adapt the series.
The first book, released in 2013, follows Allyson Healey, a careful and organized girl who meets Willem, a spontaneous actor, on the last day of her European graduation trip. On a whim, she joins him for a day in Paris, leading to a whirlwind of risk and romance. However, they are soon separated, and Allyson struggles to move on during college, unable to forget Willem. The second book, Just One Year (2014), shares the same story from Willem’s perspective. The books have sold nearly one million copies and have been translated into 19 languages.
Newton, 26, joined the Marvel Universe in 2023. Reflecting on advice from co-star Paul Rudd, she told People that he encouraged her to never hold back — a message she believes applies to any profession. Known for her roles in Paranormal Activity 4, Big Little Lies, and Lisa Frankenstein, Newton continues to balance her passions for acting and golf while taking bold steps in her career.
