On his birthday, Suriya treated fans to the much-awaited teaser of Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. The teaser showcases Suriya in a powerful dual role—an advocate named Saravanan by day and a mysterious black-clad guardian by night. This marks his second courtroom appearance after Jai Bhim, but what truly stands out is his transformation into a rural saviour inspired by the folk deity Karuppu Samy, adding a rich cultural layer to the film.

The teaser cleverly includes a nostalgic nod to the iconic watermelon scene from Ghajini, exciting longtime fans. With a mix of village and city visuals, intense action, and emotional beats, Karuppu promises to deliver both mass appeal and meaningful storytelling.

RJ Balaji, known for his work in LKG and Mookuthi Amman, returns with his signature blend of humour, emotion, and social commentary. Fans were quick to shower praise online. One user wrote, This is what we need from Suriya, while another called him the real Watermelon Star. The buzz suggests Karuppu could be a blockbuster in the making.

Trisha plays the female lead alongside a strong ensemble cast featuring Yogi Babu, Indrans, Swasika, Sshivada, Natty, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi. The film’s technical crew includes music composer Sai Abhyankkar, cinematographer GK Vishnu, editor Kalaivanan, and stunt coordinator Vikram Mor.

In addition to Karuppu, Suriya is also filming his 46th movie, directed by Venky Atluri, co-starring Mamitha Baiju, Raveena Tandon, and Radikaa Sarathkumar. With back-to-back projects and fresh roles, Suriya continues to impress fans with his range and commitment to storytelling.
