Director Karthik Subbaraj recently shared how his team overcame constant rain and tough conditions to finish shooting Retro, starring Suriya and Pooja Hegde, ahead of schedule. Speaking at the film’s audio launch at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, he revealed, We planned for 90 days but wrapped up in just 83. The monsoon followed us from Andamans to Ooty, but the team stayed focused and adapted quickly.

Subbaraj explained that many scenes were rewritten on the spot to suit the unexpected weather. He praised the cast and crew for staying flexible and committed throughout the shoot. Each day brought new hurdles, but we managed to push through with teamwork, he said.

Retro features Suriya and Pooja Hegde in the lead, with Joju George, Jayaram, and Karunakaran in key roles. For this action-packed role, Suriya even trained in martial arts in Thailand, adding to the film's intensity.

The movie’s technical team includes Santhosh Narayanan for music, Shreyaas Krishna for cinematography, and Shafique Mohamed Ali for editing. Art direction is by Jacki and Mayapandi, while Kecha Khamphakdee is in charge of stunt choreography.

With a strong cast, impressive visuals, and a dedicated crew, Retro promises to deliver an exciting cinematic experience, overcoming all odds during its production journey.
