‘Kantara 2’ shoot continues despite controversy
The much-anticipated Kantara Chapter 1, also known as Kantara 2, is set for release on October 2nd, as announced by director and lead actor Rishabh Shetty. The film follows the massive success of the first Kantara movie, and its prequel is currently being shot in a forest area near Sakleshpura in Karnataka.
However, the ongoing filming has sparked controversy. Local residents have filed a police complaint, accusing the filmmakers of disturbing the forest’s peaceful environment with bomb blasts during shooting. The locals also claim that the production team is not following the Supreme Court’s guidelines for safeguarding ecologically sensitive forest areas.
Despite this, Rishabh Shetty is determined to finish the shoot on schedule, showing no signs of halting production. According to trade experts, Kantara Chapter 1 is expected to rake in Rs 500 crore in pre-release business, including theatrical and non-theatrical deals.
In addition to this, Rishabh Shetty is gearing up to begin work on his Telugu film, Jai Hanu Man, later this year, marking another busy phase in his career.
