Kannappa's first single, Shiva Shiva Shankaraa, celebrates Lord Shiva
Vishnu Manchu's mythological film Kannappa has unveiled its first single, Shiva Shiva Shankaraa, a devotional anthem dedicated to Lord Shiva. Launched by Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the song features lyrics by Ramajogayya Sastry, vocals by Vijay Prakash, and a soulful composition by Stephen Devassy. Choreographed by Prabhu Deva, the track blends powerful visuals with Vishnu Manchu’s dynamic performance.
Sharing the lyrical video on social media, Vishnu Manchu invited fans to experience the divine energy of the song. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa is inspired by the legend of the devout Shiva devotee Kannappa. A teaser hints at a dramatic conflict where a tribal leader, Kalamukha, orders the removal of a Shiva Linga, setting the stage for Kannappa’s unwavering devotion.
The film boasts an ensemble cast, with Vishnu Manchu in the titular role, alongside Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Preity Mukhundhan, and Madhoo. Adding to the grandeur, Prabhas portrays Lord Rudra, Akshay Kumar takes on the role of Lord Shiva, while Mohanlal and Kajal Aggarwal appear as Lord Indra and Goddess Parvati, respectively.
Slated for release on April 25, 2025, Kannappa will hit theaters in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English. Filmed extensively in New Zealand, the project is expected to be a visual spectacle.
