Kanika Dhillon calls Taapsee Pannu a fellow risk-taker

Kanika Dhillon, screenwriter and producer, shared that her bond with actor Taapsee Pannu is rooted in deep friendship and a shared passion for bold storytelling. The duo, known for films like Manmarziyaan, Haseen Dillruba, Rashmi Rocket, and Dunki, are teaming up for the sixth time with Gandhari, an action-thriller directed by Devashish Makhija.

Dhillon said their partnership thrives on mutual trust and a fearless approach to taking risks. Whether it’s Rumi from Manmarziyaan or Rani from Haseen Dillruba, we’ve always experimented—and the audience has appreciated it. Gandhari is a continuation of that trust, she told PTI.

Describing Gandhari as an action-packed revenge drama, she said the story follows a mother’s fierce journey to protect her child. This will be their first collaboration in the action genre and marks Dhillon’s second film as a producer under Kattha Pictures.

She emphasized that her production house focuses on storytelling. Kattha Pictures is about putting the story at the center. It’s a platform for storytellers and emotional, genuine narratives, she explained.

Looking ahead, Dhillon hopes to explore comedy. I’m working on two theatrical films—one is a thriller, and the other is a comedy. I love diving into characters and stories that excite me, she added.
