Is SS Rajamouli planning a boat action scene in 'SSMB29'
Director SS Rajamouli's much-awaited film, SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is gearing up for an intense boat action sequence. The film, an epic jungle adventure rooted in the spiritual city of Kashi, will showcase some of the most thrilling action scenes ever seen on screen. The cast will undergo extensive training in Hyderabad, preparing for scenes involving water, fire, and large-scale chaos. These sequences are being choreographed by international stunt coordinators to meet global standards. The training is set to begin at the end of April, with approximately 3,000 people, including the lead actors, involved in the preparation.
The boat action scenes are scheduled to be filmed during May and June in Hyderabad. Priyanka Chopra, making her return to Indian cinema, will shoot her portions first, followed by Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays a powerful antagonist. The filmmakers are recreating the ancient landscape of Kashi on massive sets in Hyderabad, while also shooting scenes in real forest locations in Odisha and Africa.
The film is shaping up to be a massive cinematic event, blending mythology, adventure, and realism. Major schedules have already been completed in Odisha’s Koraput district. SSMB29 is now targeting a summer 2027 release, with music by Oscar-winning composer M.M. Keeravani and cinematography by P.S. Vinod.
