India's media sector to hit $100B in decade: Ambani
India’s media and entertainment sector has the potential to grow over three times to reach USD 100 billion in the next decade, said billionaire Mukesh Ambani at the WAVES 2025 conference. This growth, he added, will create millions of jobs and boost entrepreneurship across various industries.
Ambani, whose Reliance Group owns Network18 and several digital and entertainment platforms, said India’s strength lies in combining powerful storytelling with advanced digital technologies. India is now a top digital nation. With AI and immersive tools, our stories can reach global audiences and become even more engaging, he said. He believes India’s young creators will soon lead the global entertainment space with their creativity.
He also said that Indian stories offer hope and unity in a divided world. From the Ramayana and Mahabharata to local folklore, our stories promote compassion, courage, and universal values, he added, calling India’s storytelling not just soft power but real power.
Ambani praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s presence at the event, especially after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. He said it reflected a message of unity and strength, offering condolences to the victims' families. Modi ji, 145 crore Indians stand with you. India will win, he declared.
The WAVES 2025 event hosts 10,000 delegates from 90 countries, reflecting what Ambani described as the energy of Naya Bharat — bold, fast-moving, and ready to set new global standards. Would you like this version adapted for social media or a speech?
