Gillian Anderson open to Ryan Coogler’s ‘X-Files’ reboot
Actor Gillian Anderson has hinted that she’s open to returning as Agent Dana Scully in the upcoming X-Files reboot being developed by director Ryan Coogler. In a recent interview, Anderson revealed she had spoken with Coogler about the project and told him, If anyone were to do it, I think you are the perfect person… call me.
She also shared a clip of this conversation on her Instagram, further suggesting her interest in being part of the reboot. Anderson has previously praised Coogler, calling him a bit of a genius, and said she couldn’t imagine a better person to lead the revival.
Coogler, known for films like Black Panther, has expressed his excitement about the reboot, saying he’s eager to start and wants to make the new episodes really f--ing scary.
The original X-Files series premiered in 1993 and ran for 11 seasons, with Anderson and David Duchovny playing FBI agents Scully and Mulder. It also led to two feature films and gained a strong cult following over the years.
With Anderson’s support and Coogler’s vision, the reboot has already sparked interest among fans.
