'Firefly' lights up screens today

There's a real buzz around the Kannada film scene right now! Today, April 24th, a new movie called 'Firefly' is hitting the big screen, and it feels like a special one for a couple of reasons.
First off, it's the very first feature film produced by Niveditha Shivarajkumar under her banner, Shri Mutthu Cine Services. Plus, the release date is timed perfectly; it's the 96th birth anniversary of the legendary actor Dr. Rajkumar, Niveditha's grandfather.
'Firefly' is directed by Vamshi Krishna Srinivas, who also takes the lead role. It sounds like an interesting mix – a comedy-drama that explores some deep topics like death, pain, and getting a fresh start, but does it with a touch of humour.
From the teaser, we know Vamshi plays Vicky, a pretty quirky math teacher who's apparently won some awards! People seem to be really responding to the teaser, noticing the unique way the story's being told and how well-made it looks.
Vamshi is joined by a great line-up of actors, including Rachana Inder, Achyut Kumar, Sudharani, Sheetal Shetty, and Moogu Suresh.
Niveditha Shivarajkumar sounds genuinely thrilled about bringing this story to life. "Having been immersed in cinema and stories throughout my life," she said, "'Firefly' represents the first step in fulfilling my dream... As we wrap up shooting, I am deeply grateful to Vamshi and the team, including the senior actors, whose remarkable skills have greatly contributed to this project."
And adding another layer of warmth, Niveditha's father, the superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, actually makes a special appearance in the film! Talking about the release date, he shared something touching: "All the love people have showered on our family is all because of Appaji [Dr. Rajkumar], and to see everybody continue to shower the same love on the next generation is so heartwarming."
