Deepika Padukone Reacts to Walk of Fame Honor
Deepika Padukone has made history as the first Indian actress to be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce recently announced her inclusion in the 2026 class, alongside global stars like Demi Moore, Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, and Stanley Tucci.
Reacting to the news, Deepika simply posted Gratitude on her Instagram Story. Her fans in India were thrilled to see her name featured under the Motion Pictures category, celebrating the achievement widely on social media.
According to the official Hollywood Walk of Fame website, honorees have two years to schedule the unveiling ceremony. If not completed within that time, the star expires, and a new application must be submitted.
Located on Hollywood Boulevard, the Walk of Fame currently features over 2,700 stars. Around 300 applications are submitted each year, but only about 30 are selected. The process also involves a cost: an initial application fee of $275 (around ₹23,500) and a sponsorship fee of $85,000 (roughly ₹73 lakh), which covers the cost of installing and maintaining the star. It’s unclear whether Deepika paid the fee herself or had a sponsor.
On the work front, Deepika is set to star in Atlee’s next film opposite Allu Arjun. She’s also rumored to appear in King, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan, though no official confirmation has been made yet.
