‘Chamayya Son of Ramachari’ set for release
Although two films titled Naagara Haavu were made earlier with different stories, now a new film, ‘Chamayya Son of Ramachari’, inspired by iconic characters of the very films, has been completed. Under the Jolige Cinemas banner, Pallakki has written, directed, and acted in the film. Radhakrishna Pallakki has produced it, along with co-producers Gautham Pallakki and V. Govindaraju. The tagline reads ‘Kotenaadina Nagara Havu’, and a two-minute trailer has been released as part of its promotions.
Director Pallakki shared that during the shooting of Ee Bandhana, he met Dr. Vishnuvardhan, who shared a thoughtful line that inspired him. After Dr. Vishnu’s death, Pallakki developed the story, especially after watching Jayashree Raj’s performance in a North Karnataka play.
Unlike the original, where Ramachari dies, here he returns home, faces criticism, and later joins Pailwan Basappa's drama company. He falls in love, has a son Chamayya, but tragedy strikes later. A murder during a Hindu Mahasabha event leads to an investigation by Inspector Chota Jaleel, played by Pallakki.
Jayashree Raj plays Ramachari, Pradeep Shastri as Chamayya, Chaitra as the daughter, and Prakash Arasu as the principal. Music is by Sam, cinematography by M.R. Seenu, and editing by Shivakumar.A. The film is expected to release in April.
