The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially cleared the trimmed version of director Sekhar Kammula’s much-anticipated film Kuberaa, granting it a U/A certificate. The revised version of the film, starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna, now has a runtime of 181 minutes—three hours and one minute.

Previously, Kuberaa had received clearance with a runtime of 195 minutes. However, the producers had indicated that this was done in advance to avoid last-minute certification delays. They later chose to trim the film to just over three hours for a crisper theatrical experience.

Speaking about the film, Dhanush, who plays a lead role alongside Nagarjuna, shared his admiration for director Sekhar Kammula. “I heard I had to do a lot of prep, stand in the sun… but none of that was true,” he said. “Sekhar sir made life easy for me. He taught me the nuances and gave me a very unique character. I truly enjoyed the challenge.”

Dhanush described Kuberaa as a project close to his heart. “It’s a very special film. We shot in dumpyards, near garbage trucks—each moment was a learning experience,” he added. On the technical front, Kuberaa boasts music by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Niketh Bommi, and production design by Ramakrishna Sabbani and Monika Nigotre. The screenplay is co-written by Chaithanya Pingali, with costumes by Kavya Sriram and Poorvaa Jain. The film is produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under Sree Venkateswara Cinemas.
