Anil Kapoor’s Pukar, a defining film of the early 2000s, marks 25 years since its release. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film is remembered for its gripping story, powerful performances, and timeless music. Kapoor’s portrayal of Major Jai Singh remains one of his most celebrated roles.

Producer Boney Kapoor acknowledged the milestone by sharing a poster, highlighting the film’s two National Awards—Best Actor for Anil Kapoor and the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration. He also reflected on how the film missed out on accolades for Best Music and Best Actress.

Kapoor once shared how he persuaded legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar to sing Ek Tu Hi Bharosa, one of the film’s most iconic tracks. He recalled the challenges and excitement of securing her unparalleled voice to bring director Santoshi’s vision to life.

Recently, Farah Khan visited Boney Kapoor’s home and reminisced about choreographing Pukar’s songs. She humorously recalled how Boney’s generosity extended to using helicopters like rickshaws to transport everything, including a chef who ensured the cast and crew enjoyed Indian delicacies on set.

Released on February 4, 2000, Pukar featured a stellar cast, including Madhuri Dixit, Namrata Shirodkar, and Om Puri. The film’s legacy endures, cementing its place as a beloved classic.
