After a successful theatrical release on April 11, 2025, Janardhan Chikkanna’s Kannada crime drama Agnyathavasi is now set for its digital premiere on ZEE5 on May 28. Set in Karnataka’s misty Malnad region during the late 1990s, the film weaves mystery, emotions, and long-buried secrets.

The story follows Inspector Govindu (Rangayana Raghu), who leads a quiet life as both a farmer and a policeman in the peaceful village of Nalkeri. The calm is broken when local landlord Srinivasaiah (Sharath Lohitashwa) is found dead under strange circumstances. What seems like a natural death soon becomes a puzzling murder case.

As Govindu investigates, he uncovers connections to a forgotten case from the 1970s. The arrival of Rohit (Siddu Moolimani), who introduces the village’s first computer, deepens the mystery. His digital exchanges with Arun, the landlord’s estranged son, stir emotions—especially in Pankaja (Paavana Gowda), who shares a close bond with the family.

Agnyathavasi is more than just a murder mystery. It explores guilt, silence, and hidden pasts in a village that appears quiet on the surface. The film features compelling performances by Ravishankar Gowda, Yamuna Srinidhi, and Hari Samashti. The cinematography by Advaitha Gurumurthy, music by Charan Raj, and editing by Bharath MC enhance its immersive feel.

Don’t miss this emotional thriller when it begins streaming on ZEE5—perfect for mystery lovers and fans of meaningful storytelling.
