Waste removal, infra improvements underway at APMC

Yeshwantpur Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) has initiated several infrastructure improvements including the removal of waste scattered around the premises, and the launch of works for drainage, road paving, and white topping.

In response to reports concerning the lack of fundamental infrastructure at Yeshwantpur APMC, officials have successfully cleared the waste accumulation in the area and have also cleaned public toilets.

K.C. Doraiswamy, Secretary of Yeshwantpur APMC, stated, “The ongoing infrastructure development works are causing traffic congestion. To manage this, security personnel will be deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow.”

He added, “Thirty-six rooms in the farmers' building have been made available for use, with 13 of these rooms having been renovated. Tenders for the renovation of the remaining 23 rooms have already been invited. Measures will also be taken to upgrade the drinking water facility. Security personnel are patrolling the premises at night for safety.”

"Two calls for tenders have been made for the maintenance of the multi-storey vehicle parking building within the APMC, but no one has submitted bids. The maintenance of the multi-storey vehicle parking building in the Independence Park will be completed within a week along with the tender process, enabling public access,” he informed.

Officials also mentioned that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) is being prepared for the installation of CCTV cameras at the entry and exit gates for vehicles within the APMC premises.
