Namma Namma Metro is the lifeline of Silicon City, with lakhs of people commuting daily to reach their destinations across the city. However, concerns about the safety of young girls using the metro have periodically arisen. Recently, allegations have emerged that an unidentified individual has created objectionable videos of girls inside the metro and uploaded them on Instagram. In response to the widespread outrage on social media, all such videos have now been deleted. A suo-motu (voluntary) case has been registered at the Banashankari police station regarding this incident.
The videos were uploaded on an Instagram account named “Metro Clicks,” which has over 5,538 followers. The recordings include footage taken inside the metro trains and at various stations, raising serious concerns about the safety and privacy of passengers.
Currently, there is intense outrage on social media against this unidentified individual. Following the public outcry, all objectionable videos have been removed. The Banashankari police have registered a case under Sections 67 of the IT Act 2008 and Section 78(2) of the BNS. Some individuals have voiced their strong opposition, warning others to be cautious: “Someone is uploading objectionable videos of girls on Instagram.
