Verification of land titles related to land acquisition in Kethaganahalli
On Tuesday, a verification of original land records related to the acquisition of government land in Kethaganhalli, situated in the Bidadi hobli of Ramnagara taluk, was conducted at the Ramnagara Tahsildar's office.
The Tahsildar, Tejaswini, examined the original records concerning the ownership of the land pertaining to a total of seven survey numbers, including Survey Nos. 7, 8, 9, 10, 16, 17, and 79, which involve 80 individuals.
After reviewing the original records held by the landowners for these survey numbers, all documents presented by the owners were scanned. Statements were recorded from each landowner regarding the land approval.
The verification process continued uninterrupted from morning until evening without any break for lunch. Video recording of the entire procedure was also undertaken.
Among those who received notices, about 45 landowners or their representatives appeared at the office. Some notices were returned to the office, while others arrived with lawyers and requested a different date for document submission, according to sources.
Regarding the submission of original records, the Tahsildar had issued a notice on April 5 to the landowners of the seven survey numbers under Section 28 of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964.
The court that issued the document request: For the removal of encroachments on government land in Kethaganhalli, the Tahsildar had provided a notice to H.D. Kumaraswamy on March 18. In relation to this, the High Court, which examined the writ petition submitted by Kumaraswamy, ordered that no coercive action should be taken according to the notice.
