Two more deaths reported in Karnataka, 153 new cases in last 24 hours
The COVID-19 situation in Karnataka remains a concern, with the State Health Department confirming two more fatalities and 153 new infections in the last 24 hours.
According to the health bulletin released on Wednesday, a total of 592 samples were tested across the state, out of which 153 returned positive. The latest deaths include a 65-year-old man from Udupi and a 42-year-old man from Bengaluru, raising the total number of COVID-related deaths in the state to six since the recent resurgence of the virus.
The data also indicates that active cases in the state have now risen to 324. Of these, 317 patients are currently under home isolation, while five are being treated on general hospital beds. Two individuals are in Intensive Care Units (ICU), and seven are receiving medical care in hospitals.
The Health Department has urged citizens to remain cautious, especially those with comorbidities and the elderly. People are being encouraged to seek timely testing and isolate at the earliest sign of symptoms.
Though the numbers remain relatively low compared to previous waves, the steady rise in daily cases and occasional fatalities has raised concerns among health experts about a potential resurgence if preventive measures are not followed.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and are prepared to take appropriate containment measures if the trend escalates. Citizens are advised to maintain hygiene, avoid crowded places, and stay updated with official health advisories.
