Traffic reforms in central Bengaluru: One-ways, parking changes in High Grounds & Seshadripuram areas

In an effort to decongest traffic and facilitate smoother vehicle movement in the central parts of the city, Bengaluru City Traffic Police has announced significant changes in parking regulations and traffic flow in High Grounds and Seshadripuram police limits. The changes include new one-way systems and restricted parking zones in key stretches near major hubs like the Cantonment Railway Station and surrounding roads.

🚗 New parking permissions:

Two-wheelers are now permitted to park on the east side of Railway Parallel Road (R.P. Road) and Hare Krishna Road, stretching from the Railway Underbridge to Kumara Park West 6th Cross.

Four-wheelers, including cars, may be parked from R.P. Road and KP West 6th Cross up to the BDA office stretch on the same road.

🚫 No-parking zones:

All categories of vehicles are prohibited from parking on the west side of R.P. Road and Hare

Krishna Road (from the Railway Underbridge up to the BDA office junction).

🔁 One-way traffic changes:

Nehru Circle to N.S. Ayyangar Street is now a one-way (south to north).

N.S. Ayyangar Street to Nagappa Street & 3rd Cross is also designated as one-way (north to

south). A one-way system is in effect from Sampige Road to Shirur Park Road, heading west to

east.

❌ Full two-wheeler parking ban:

Bans are in place on Shirur Park Road and South End Road junction leading to S.P. Road near Nataraj Theatre (west side).

Also restricted is the stretch from BBMP office on Sampige Road to the northern direction of

Shirur Park Road. 📌 All vehicle types banned from parking:

From Shirur Park Road & South End Road junction to S.C. Road and Sampige Road

(East and south side), no vehicle parking is permitted. The city police have urged the public to cooperate with these new measures, which aim to streamline traffic movement in high-density zones and reduce bottlenecks near key infrastructure points.
