Traffic curbs in city for Karaga fest
The Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued an important notice for motorists and commuters ahead of the Bangalore Karaga Shaktyotsava. Vehicular movement on several key city roads will be restricted on April 12 and 13. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes on these dates.
The world-renowned Karaga Shaktyotsava is being celebrated at the Dharmarayaswamy Temple in Thigalarpet, in the heart of Bengaluru. To facilitate the smooth conduct of rituals and processions, police have restricted traffic on major city roads.
According to the traffic advisory, vehicles will not be allowed on Avenue Road, KR Market Road, Market Circle, Cottonpet, KG Road, and Chikkapet from 10 PM on April 12 to 6 PM on April 13. As the Karaga procession begins at the Dharmarayaswamy Temple, vehicular movement will be restricted in surrounding areas as well.
The Karaga Mahotsava began with the flag hoisting and chariot procession at the Dharmarayaswamy Temple last Friday. Preparations are underway for the grand Karaga Shaktyotsava and Dharmarayaswamy Maharathotsava on Saturday night, April 12. This year, A. Gnanendra will carry the Karaga for a record 15th time.
With lakhs of devotees expected, arrangements have been made for crowd management, including lighting and a special canopy for spectators at the temple.

From Market Circle, take K.G. Road via Anandrao Circle to reach Majestic.
From AS Char Street, head to Town Hall via CCB Junction, Medical Junction, Minerva Circle, and JC Road.
From Shantala Junction, proceed towards Mysore Road via Khode Junction, Hunasemara Junction, and Tankbund Road.
