The State of Politics is Deteriorating; Chalavadi Narayana Swamy

Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, criticized the current government, likening its administration to garbage and asserting that such a poor government has never been witnessed before.

Speaking at a press conference in Ramanagara, he stated that there is a complete absence of development within the government. The law and order situation in the state has severely deteriorated. Instead of discussing development, there are talks about money laundering, honey traps, and phone tapping. He remarked that the government has never been this ineffective, stating that no leaders of the BJP are involved in the honey trap scams; if they were, the government would have already initiated investigations.

He alleged that now Congress leaders themselves are using honey traps against their own party members who speak out against them. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remains silent on this issue; the only thing he mentions is that investigations will happen, but he offers no further explanation. Narayanaswamy even insinuated that there might be suspicions of the Chief Minister being involved in similar honey traps. He suggested that the CM is avoiding investigations out of fear of potential consequences.

The government is allegedly siphoning off funds meant for Dalits. Despite the injustices faced by Dalits, Congress ministers and legislators remain silent. "I've never seen such submissiveness," he remarked. The money allocated for Dalits should be reserved for them, and it has been misappropriated for guarantees. Additionally, he stated that religion-based reservations are unconstitutional. Narayanaswamy called out Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar's claim of amending the constitution for religion-based reservations and criticized Congress members who speak of Ambedkar while supporting such changes. He urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to immediately remove D.K. Shivakumar from the cabinet, questioning his moral standing.

Narayanaswamy pointed out that Congress is now only relevant in three states: Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, and he predicts that Congress will not last much longer in Karnataka. He described Karnataka metaphorically as a "Kamadhenu" that Congress is exploiting.
