On 5th June, the students of VVR School, Dodda Kannalli, Bengaluru, came together with great enthusiasm to celebrate World Environment Day on the main road outside their school. The event was a lively blend of awareness, action, and hope, as students carried colourful banners and handmade posters bearing powerful messages about protecting our planet. Dressed in green, the children formed a human chain along the roadside, chanting slogans like “Save Earth, Save Future” and “Plant Trees, Breathe Easy”. Teachers and volunteers guided the procession while passers-by stopped to observe and even joined in. A street play performed by class 10 students caught everyone’s attention, highlighting the dangers of plastic pollution and the urgent need for sustainable living. The school principal, Mrs Kavitha Rao, addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to become lifelong guardians of the environment. Saplings were also distributed to local residents as a gesture of goodwill and environmental commitment. The celebration was not just an event—it was a heartfelt expression of young voices determined to make a difference. The students of VVR School showed that change begins with awareness, and even a small step taken together can pave the way to a greener future.
