State government resumes B-khata land registration process
State government has resumed the registration process for B-Khata plots. This brings relief to B-Khata property owners who have been unable to register their sites.
Registration for B-Khata property owners is expected to resume shortly. The government has finally announced good news to those who have been unable to register their sites. As per the decision, the registration process will restart from next week, said K. A. Dayananda, Inspector General of Registration and Commissioner of Stamps.
Speaking to media persons, K. A. Dayanand explained that since October 30 last year, no site registrations have been taking place. The BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) and RDP (Revenue Department) are currently in discussions, and it has been decided that all sites registered before October 31, 2024, will be eligible for registration. This move is expected to benefit lakhs of landowners and streamline property documentation processes across the state.
Furthermore, for properties valued above 30 lakh rupees, a PAN Card is now required. The registration process must be accompanied by a separate form with the PAN Card details. This measure is aimed at preventing tax department issues and ensuring transparency in property transactions. The registration will also include a record of income, and these two major decisions have been announced by Commissioner K. A. Dayanand.
The government has also implemented some changes related to site registration. Recently, a fee was introduced for adding the owner’s name to property records. This aims to prevent fraud during property sale and purchase transactions and improve record accuracy.
Under the new site registration rules, linking of Aadhar Card is also mandatory. Additionally, the applicant must verify their official mobile number, biometric details, and ensure that the name matches official records. These measures will enhance security, reduce fraudulent activities, and facilitate smoother registration procedures for landowners across Karnataka.
