Special Train for Kumbh Mela: Bengaluru to Varanasi

In response to the growing demand for travel during the Kumbh Mela, South Western Railway has announced a one-way special train from Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) in Bengaluru to Varanasi.

The train (06579) will depart from SMVT Bengaluru at 1:00 PM on January 23, 2025, and reach Varanasi at 1:30 PM on January 25, 2025. It will make stops at various stations including Tumkur, Tiptur, Arsikere, Birur, Chikkajajur, Davangere, Hubli, Pune, Ahmednagar, Manmad, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Prayagraj Chowki, and Mirzapur, among others.

With 20 coaches—01 General Second Class, 17 Sleeper Class, and 02 General Luggage and Divyang Friendly Coaches—the special train aims to provide ample seating for the increased number of pilgrims and travelers.
