Singer Sonu Nigam is allegedly playing a game of hide and seek with the police, evading multiple attempts by the Avalahalli Police to record his statement in connection with the Kannada insult controversy. Despite the Karnataka High Court’s clear directive asking him to cooperate with the investigation without fear of coercion, the singer has not yet provided any statement, even as a month has passed since the incident.

According to sources, police officials have made several attempts to reach Nigam directly and even offered to visit him in person to record his statement. However, each time, the singer reportedly delayed the process, citing scheduling issues.

Previously, the High Court had stated that no coercive action should be taken against Nigam but emphasized that he must cooperate with the investigation. However, his continued reluctance has raised questions about his respect for the court's order and the legal process.

With the delay persisting, the Avalahalli Police are now considering bringing the matter to the attention of the High Court if he does not comply within the next couple of days.

The case, which drew widespread public attention, involves allegations that Sonu Nigam made derogatory remarks perceived as disrespectful to Kannadigas. The case has become politically and emotionally charged, and law enforcement authorities are under pressure to complete the investigation promptly.
