Bengaluru
A serial molester who had been targeting women during evening walks in various parks and public spaces in Bengaluru was finally apprehended by the Pulakeshinagar Police. The accused, identified as 37-year-old Madan, was arrested near Banaswadi after multiple women came forward with complaints of being forcibly kissed and hugged in public places.
The incidents, which occurred on June 6, involved at least two women in the Pulakeshinagar area. One of the victims, who was with her family at the time, was suddenly hugged and kissed on the lips by the accused. Later the same evening, another woman walking alone in the same park faced a similar assault. CCTV footage from the area, along with a prompt complaint to the police helpline 112, led to a swift investigation.
Pulakeshinagar Police registered cases based on the complaints and traced the suspect using surveillance footage over a 6–7 km radius. Speaking to the media, East Division DCP Devaraj confirmed that the accused had a pattern of stalking women and forcibly misbehaving with them, particularly in parks, playgrounds, and streets where women frequent for evening walks.
During interrogation, Madan revealed that he was previously employed at a software company but had quit several months ago. A BSc Computer Science graduate, Madan is reportedly married and a resident of the Banaswadi area. He also confessed to similar offenses in other police station limits, including Hennur, Banaswadi, and Ramamurthy Nagar.

Investigators found that the accused was addicted to consuming explicit content, which seemingly influenced his predatory behavior. Police sources said Madan had a pattern of selecting isolated spots where women walked alone or with minimal company, often targeting them suddenly before fleeing.

In another, a passerby groped a woman walking on the road — the CCTV footage of which went viral, sparking public outrage. Reports have also emerged from areas like K.R. Market and K.R. Puram, where women have faced gangrape attempts, highlighting the urgent need for better patrolling and women’s safety measures across the city.
