The investigation of the Wilson Garden police station has revealed that the fake policemen who attacked Adike Mandi employees and robbed them of 80 lakhs by stopping the car going to Salem on the way.
Two special teams have been formed, one team is going to Andhra Pradesh and another team is going to Tamil Nadu to find the miscreants who escaped with the money disguised as police.
Chandan, who works as a driver for Mohan, the owner of Adike Mandi in Tumkur's Gubbi taluk Tevedehalli, and his employee Kumaraswamy were going to Salem in a car with Rs 80 lakhs of money around 9 am on December 27.
As he was coming near the junction of KH Road via Mysore Road, four persons wearing police uniforms and putting police stickers on the car intercepted his car and attacked him and escaped in their car with a bag containing money.
The robbed employees reported the matter to their owner Mohan, who lodged a complaint at the Wilson Garden police station. While one sub-inspector was in uniform, the three in constable uniform were talking to each other in Telugu, the complaint explained.
