Saraswathi Nagar metro station stands tall among all stations in the city
The construction of Bengaluru’s Namma Metro Blue Line is progressing despite challenges, with the installation of roof truss materials at Saraswathi Nagar Metro Station underway. This station is set to be the tallest metro station on the Blue Line, which will connect the northern and southern parts of Bengaluru. The Blue Line project, spanning 56 km, is being developed in two phases—2A and 2B—along the Outer Ring Road (ORR). Phase 1 extends from Silk Board to KR Puram, while Phase 2 stretches from KR Puram to Bengaluru International Airport. With 30 metro stations planned, this corridor aims to enhance city connectivity. Saraswathi Nagar Metro Station is the first among all stations on the Blue Line to complete its roof truss installation, marking a major milestone in the project. Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) plans to begin operations on this line by June 2026. This station will benefit students from educational institutions like Lorry Memorial, as well as employees from Hyundai, MG Motors, Tata Motors, Renault, and Honda Motors. It will also serve commuters traveling to KR Puram, Mahadevapura, Whitefield, HSR Layout, and Silk Board. The construction is being handled by Nagarjuna Constructions, Shankaranarayana Constructions (SNC), and MR Nagarjuna. SNC is specifically responsible for building Saraswathi Nagar Metro Station. The Blue Line is expected to significantly reduce Bengaluru’s traffic congestion once completed.
