Kannada activist and former Bigg Boss contestant Rupesh Rajanna was detained by police on Tuesday after attempting to lay siege to the official residence of Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan in Bengaluru, amid rising political tension over alleged irregularities in the housing department.

The incident follows the recent leak of a controversial audio clip featuring Karnataka State Planning Board Vice-Chairman B.R. Patil, in which serious allegations were made against Sarfaraz Khan, a close aide and personal secretary of Minister Zameer. The clip alleged widespread corruption within the housing department and had gone viral, prompting calls for investigation.

In response, Sarfaraz Khan had released a video denying the allegations and claimed that Rupesh Rajanna was misusing the name of Kannada organisations to blackmail him. Sarfaraz also warned against dragging the minister’s name into personal business matters.

Following these remarks, Rupesh Rajanna attempted to confront the minister directly at his official residence to demand evidence supporting Sarfaraz’s claims. Rajanna’s action led to a verbal altercation with the police, who eventually took him into custody as a preventive measure.

Earlier, Rajanna had posted on his Facebook page challenging Sarfaraz to prove his accusations with evidence, stating:
"I will not back down without the truth being revealed. I have seen your false accusations against me in your video. Please unblock my account and face me with proof. I will come to your office—be there."

The clash has intensified an already volatile political controversy surrounding alleged irregularities and resort construction linked to figures within the housing department. The matter is expected to draw further public and political scrutiny in the days ahead.
