Road rage incident: CM, DCM take strong stand
Bengaluru
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed the road rage incident on Tuesday, confirming that the Commissioner of Police has been instructed to take legal action against those involved, regardless of their status. He emphasized that the state government is treating the case seriously and is committed to ensuring justice for the victim.
Siddaramaiah also criticized Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose for making "derogatory and unwarranted remarks" about Karnataka and its people on social media, calling his conduct disrespectful and inflammatory. He urged Kannadigas to remain calm and not react emotionally. "Let us uphold the law and maintain peace," he stated.
The incident began when a video surfaced of Bose, who claimed he was attacked by a motorist, Vikas Kumar. The police initially registered a case against Kumar. However, further investigation revealed that Bose had attacked Kumar, with CCTV footage showing him assaulting the motorist.
Deputy CM D K Shivakumar also condemned Bose’s actions, stressing that the law applies to everyone and that respect for Karnataka’s language and culture is vital for outsiders.
