In a citizen-friendly move, City Municipal Council President K. Sheshadri (Shashi) has launched a novel initiative to provide e-Khata services at residents’ doorsteps under the slogan “Your Property, Your Right.” The effort has earned widespread appreciation from the public.

As part of the drive, the city council organized an e-Khata distribution event in Vijayanagar locality on Wednesday. Eighteen property owners who had already submitted online applications received their e-Khatas within an hour after presenting the required documents.

Speaking on the occasion, President Sheshadri said over 3,000 e-Khatas have already been distributed, but he aims to reach all property owners. He urged citizens to utilize the facility introduced by the Congress government and secure legal records for their self-owned properties.

Earlier, applicants had to make repeated visits to offices, sometimes for months, to get their Khatas. To eliminate this inconvenience, the council has brought the service directly to people’s homes, he added.

Pamphlets with detailed information about required documents are being circulated citywide to ensure all eligible citizens can benefit. City staff has been deployed for smooth implementation of both A and B Khata distribution.

The campaign received positive response from residents and saw active participation from civic officials including Commissioner Dr. Jayanna, Vice President Ayisha Banu, and councillors Vijayakumari, Pavitra Lakshmikant, Jayalakshmamma, Girija Guruvayegowda, Manjula Venkatesh, and others.
